Khilak Budhathoki was born in the peaceful hills of Okhaldhunga, Nepal. Growing up surrounded by mountains and culture, he developed a deep love for his country and its people. After completing his studies in his hometown, he earned a Master’s degree in Political Science in Kathmandu. He is now continuing his education with a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Theology at the Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology (HLT), Norway.
Khilak began his career as a journalist with Nepal Republic Media, where he worked for three years, mostly writing about tourism and adventure. His work was recognized with the ‘TAAN Journalists Award 2017’ from the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal and the Metropolitan Good Governance Journalism Award 2018.
Inspired by his writing, Khilak entered the travel and tourism field more directly. He completed Trekking Guide Training (2015) and Tour Guide Training (2018) at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), Kathmandu. Since then, he has guided and personally completed several treks in the Everest and Annapurna regions, gaining first-hand experience on Nepal’s most popular trails.
Today, as Managing Director, Khilak combines his journalism background, professional training, and trekking experience to give visitors truly memorable journeys. His passion is to share Nepal’s breathtaking mountains, diverse culture, and warm hospitality with every traveler. He believes that tourism is not just about reaching a destination; it’s about enjoying the journey, building friendships, and leaving Nepal with unforgettable memories
